Roll on Columbia, roll on

When I was at the Woody Guthrie tribute set at Folklife on Monday they dedicated a full hour of the 3 hour set to Guthrie’s collection of songs written during his time in the Northwest, following the route of the Columbia River. According to the emcee it was his most prolific songwriter period. The songs about the great river, rambling, wandering, and migrant life really spoke to this wanderer’s heart. Roll on, Columbia, roll on.
